My new floorcloth and spooky Es

That's Es attempting to destroy an antebellum coverlet. Kids have no reverence for history.

I just completed this floorcloth in my family room.

Es, with devil eyes, for Halloween.

Halloween Decorations and My Christmas Gift

As an early Christmas gift, my mother got me this fabulous French processional statue, or poupee. I LOVE her.

Sweet Potato, caramel frosted cake I made for the department party last night

Stenciling in the living and dining rooms. It's a Regency period reproduction I ordered from London.

The bedroom stencil is an Art Nouveau thistle motif.

Halloween has arrived at my house.

The table that gave me so much trouble coming home from the flea market. I'm going to use it as a work table for my assemblages.

Flea Market Friday

I bought this chair and footstool for $20 today! I've always wanted one buy they're usually at least 20 times that much. I think it may have been mislabeled.

My new back door dressings.

Shower curtains that match the back door dressings.

A yellowware bowl I found at the flea market for $8. They're normally at least $75.

Labor Day Labors

My new velvet wingbacks and a circa 1840s work table

Close-up of the work table--it was used for ladylike sewing.

My new kitchen countertop, sink, and faucet--thank God for my parents' help!

My revamped laundry room. Mom brought me all these pieces out of storage. The cupboard is an old pie safe. I particularly love the lemonade sign nailed on the side!

My new back door--thanks Dad!

My new stone jackrabbits--Mom named them them Jefferson and Jackson. The pumpkins are from her garden.

An Homage to My Grandmother, My Office, & Senor Es

Most people think it's a sin to paint natural wood, but I just couldn't live with it. I love it now.

All of her adult life my gram longed for a Gone with the Wind lamp. She never got one, so this lamp is a kind of homage to her. Plus, it works now that I live in the south.

I painted the kitchen cupboards again. It might stick this time.

My office. No window, but it's cute anyway.
